Pondok Pitaya Yoga is suitable to all students regardless of their level or experience in yoga. With the vibrant beach atmosphere, the class will move in several paces as students begin to develop their asana practice. Fundamentals and alignment in postures, as well as breathing and meditation techniques are practiced allowing students to gain an understanding of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Krama Yoga and Yoga.

Students are given their yoga practice according to their ability.  Newer and more beginning students tend to have a much shorter practice than those with more experience.  As one gains more strength, stamina, flexibility and concentration, additional postures are given to the student.  The appreciation and gratitude of the word “given” comes from how the practice is taught in India, where a yoga practice is something that a teacher gives to a student as a spiritual practice, a way to enhance ones life.  This is in comparison to learning a lot of postures at once in a typical modern class.

Pondok Pitaya Yoga classes are structured classes and the structure of the class depends on the teacher being able to keep track of what each student is doing.  If a student has trouble with a particular asana, the teacher can offer a modification or work for a posture that is consistent with the intention of the practice.
